Hay, again

Previously I brought in 140 square bales of hay, I got it all shoved into the storage area and had a few that wouldn’t fit, used those that didn’t fit up and have around 130 left. With the 130 I would feed half a bale a day with grain for my two horses which would give me 260 days of hay. Obviously not an entire year. I used to get enough square bales to go a year but changed.

I feel it’s better for the horses to be able to eat more hay and less grain, I can only store 3 bales at a time so I have to buy throughout the winter. Eventually there is a point that it becomes difficult to find hay for sale and that is when I use my 130 square bales.
Hay storage is very important to think about if you plan on having animals and planning for the entire year is important as well.
